The ChillQuiet Band is a contemporary jazz ensemble led by saxophonist Anneke Scace and comprised of some of the finest up-and-coming young musicians in the DC area.

Anneke Scace

Anneke is an alto saxophonist and classically trained flutist making waves on the DC scene. A graduate of Gaithersburg High School, Anneke currently attends the University of Maryland on a full-ride scholarship. Anneke is a 3-time Washington Women in Jazz Festival Emerging Artist, and has played notable venues such as the Kennedy Center, Blues Alley, and the Mid Atlantic Jazz Festival. Anneke has also performed with acclaimed artists such as George Cables, Randy Brecker, Delfaeyo Marsalis, and Jazzmeia Horn. From 2022 to 2023, Anneke played lead alto in Paul Carr’s Jazz Academy Orchestra, which has served as a stepping stone for many accomplished musicians in DC and New York. In 2025, Anneke traveled to California to participate in Allison Miller's jazz intensive program, where she received daily guidance from renowned pianist Orrin Evans. That same year, Anneke released her first record, "Full Bloom", fully comprised of original compositions. Aside from performing, Anneke is a passionate arts advocate and is working to advance jazz policy initiatives alongside the Capitol Hill Jazz Foundation.
